COLOUR CHART OF RUSSIAN FERRETS

The following ferret colours are known in Russia: sable (standard and dark), pearl (silver), goldish, pastel and albino. Our classification of ferret colours is a mix between Russian fitch farm classification and that of American Ferret Association.

SABLE and DARK-SABLE

Colour: light- to dark cream
Guard hairs: black, warm deep brown
Undercoat: light- to dark cream, but not orange
Mask: "V" mask, not a full or "T" bar mask

PERL

Colour: light with a dark ash blackish hue
Guard hairs: black
Undercoat: cold light gray
Mask: "V" mask, not a full or "T" bar mask

GOLDISH

Colour: yellowish- to full-orange
Guard hairs: black
Undercoat: from yellowish- to full-orange
Mask: "V" mask, not a full or "T" bar mask

PASTEL

Colour: light- to dark-cream
Guard hairs: light brown, sometimes with an ash bluish hue
Undercoat: light creme or gray
Mask: "V" mask or no mask

ALBINO
